Here is what we predicted for 2011, as printed on page 28 in our December. 2010 issue. We did pretty well! Be sure to read our predictions for the whole Suncoast 2012 in the Janaury 2012 issue.
Our 2011 predictions zeroed in on out east since we became Living On The Suncoast in August.

We predicted: The Tea Party movement will be active but the public will still be angry and disillusioned. We got that right!

We predicted no city for Lakewood Ranch but the issue will rise again sometime. We were right but didn't expect a 2011 vote. We thought it would take place later.

We predicted several candidates to run in a Republican Primary against Commissioner Donna Hayes. We were right.

We predicted local unemployment would remain high but nose down a bit.  Right again.

We prdicted success for the rowing initiative. We were right. We also predicted the railroad museum in Parrish will gather a head of steam. Right now it seems to be simmering but it could leap ahead in 2012.

We said educationa nd local government in Manatee would be fiscally challenged. It is.

We said there would be no bus service out east. We were right.
